Being Baptised in the Spirit and being filled with the Spirit?

No, speaking in tongues is only one of the gifts of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. In fact, He says that the greatest of these is LOVE. A true Christian will be known by his love towards others and the way he conducts himself will glorify God. Some who are not Christians would be scared by someone who was talking to them in tongues and run away. Whereas the same who ran away being approached by someone with an outward showing of love and understanding would be more likely to sit and listen to what is being said. The Holy Spirit is also to be working in us as our conscience. It is given to us when we accept Christ so that we may be able to discern better the good from the bad and make the right choices. I have been to services where those were supposedly speaking in tongues and no translator was made available. In Corinthians it is written that when speaking in tongues is of the Spirit, He will provide an interpreter. Since there was none there, I took it as vain babbling and knew it was not of the Holy Spirit, based upon that scripture. In fact, it sounded like women who were cackling like chickens going "cack-a lack-a-cack-a-lack-a" over and over and over. There was some spirit being worshiped in that service, but not the Spirit of God! I felt cold and afraid, much like I was in a ceremony to worship the Devil instead. We must be careful in these things that Satan not be allowed to slip in and take over with this sort of deceit. When we are baptized, it is a symbol of acceptance of the Spirit of God and we show we have the Holy Spirit by the way we live our lives for Him, then His Spirit is manifested through the things we do, tongues or no tongues.
