If i lighten my hair with blonde hair dye would burgundy colour work and actually come out the colour i want?

Heres the deal my hair is dark brown and i dyed it deep burgundy blackcurrent colour...but its just made my hair darker and theres no red tint to it...i have a blonde hair dye what if use that to lightne my hair and apply deep burgundy after would it work??
