Should she compensate me for the flight?

I've been talking to this woman for a year already. she's from California, and I'm from New York. We've criss crossed the country to see each other several times. I was supposed to see her this past May, but a week after I paid for the flight, she tells me she can't do this anymore. She's frustrated with the distance between us, and that I remained emotionally unavailable, which was true. When I paid for the flight, she encouraged me and was very excited. The frustrating part about this is that I paid for the flight and she had to tell me this a week later after I paid 250 dollars for this flight. I was very upset about that,and she accused me of only caring about the money I lost. To be fair, the last time I went to visit her, she paid for most of my expenses. I think it would be fair if she compensated me for at least half the fare, or should I just cut my losses here and move on?
