Where is the technology?

Technology is advancing faster and faster everyday you hear of something new, I don't think a day goes by without some advances in technology but where is it, a TV is still a TV a car is still a car doing the same thing it did the day it was invented and we have the apex the mobile phone. Yes I know they have been improved and they perform better but basically we don't have anything with that wow factor and with all the breakthroughs we hear about where is it..............
