Mutants and Masterminds character help!!?

My friend and I spotted Mutants and Masterminds in a comic book store today. I always wanted to play a superhero rpg but I had no idea what my superhero was going to be. I kinda had an idea (that doesnt sound so exciting anymore) so I tried to make a character. It was really hard and frustrating (probably just because I was running short on time and I still didnt know if that was the character I was going to use) So...I tried looking for a character generator online and I heard of something called Mutagen. Unfortunately, the site isnt a site anymore so I cant use it. I joined a yahoo group of it and cant find it. I probably could make a character out of the book now, but I cant until Wednesday and I'm really anxious. Help?
